Pirates 2: Mutiny is a piratical board game for two to four players, ages ten and up. The object of the game is to score points by collecting doubloons and capturing treasure chests. The game can be played in about an hour.

Each player begins the game with three pirate ships, a black one, a red one, and a green one. Players place their ships on the starting spaces of the board, then take turns moving their ships clockwise around the board. If a player's ship encounters an obstacle such as a rock or another ship, they may have to spin around (or "drink") and continue their journey in the opposite direction.

The first player to reach the end of the board wins the game. Along the way, players can collect doubloons by landing on spaces marked with a gold coin. They can also capture treasure chests by landing on spaces marked with a Jolly Roger flag. A player must have at least one ship adjacent to a treasure chest in order to capture it.

The game includes three different kinds of treasure chests: small, medium, and large. Collecting three small treasure chests earns a player one point, collecting three medium treasure chests earns two points, and collecting three large treasure chests earns five points.

Players can also earn bonus points by capturing more than one treasure chest on a turn. For example, if a player captures two small treasure chests and one medium chest on their turn, they would score six points (three for each type of chest).

Doubloons are worth more at the end of the game than they are at the beginning. A player who has collected six doubloons at the end of the game scores six points instead of just one point!
